The new museum, located on Piazza Papa Luciani, once Piazza della Pieve, will house a division completely dedicated to John Paul I (ex Casa dei Battuti or the old town hall ) and a pilgrim centre and old people’s day home (ex Boarding-House Cavallino).
The first building, which will house the museum, was the former seat of the Confraternita dei Battuti (1455-1869), successively transformed into a town hall (1869-1982) to become later on the head office of different associations. In this building dating from the 15th century some space will be left to the whole exhibition on Albino Luciani. The attic will house the study centre along with the archives and the library.
The second building, connected to the first one, will house a conference room , a centre for pilgrims and day centre for old people from the Biois valley.
The opening is likely to be in 2012.
